The Kapok Tree - Texas State Style!

Mr. Trujillio and his new friend.

Our Texas State University interns took their on-campus classroom here at MI and transformed it into a tropical rainforest! A most amazing transformation in a very short period of time. They used the theme of the story of The Kapok Tree.
Making several stations ranging from a reading area, to crafts, and even online access, they took the kids on a journey to the rainforest without leaving the campus. They even had a Kinder class from the school across the street come and take the tour. Each TSU intern had a job, from moderating an area to being jungle guide.
Very cool!
